Relations & Celebration
Today, we had the exceptional honor to welcome Mr. Ivo Sieber, former Ambassador of Switzerland to Thailand and to Vietnam. Exceptional, because he had to catch a flight right after his time slot, actually. Yet, he was still so friendly to give our Delegation an glimpse of his enriching experience on the run. 📈
After that, we sent our Delegation out in groups to explore the other 7 countries of ASEAN and present them in plenum afterwards: Burnei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Singapore, Myanmar, Philippines. The students and our accompanying staff presented many fun Facts and reasons why future Editions of exploreASEAN should visit those countries too. Who knows, Maybe next year! 🚀
Also worth to mention is the enriching presentation of Mr. Mark Moser (FHNW). He taught us many insiders about the cultural traditions and work philosophy, but also the micro and non-verbal communications in ASEAN compared to switzerland.
On the afternoon, we went to the future❗We filled a digital time capsule with prognoses and scenarios.
Lastly, we had a cooking class with friends of our supervisor teaching us how to make fresh and juicy sommer rolls to prepare us for our time in ASEAN☀💦

Technology
This morning, we had the incredible opportunity to visit uptownBasel, a leading innovation hub in Switzerland. We were warmly welcomed by Sonja Andrist, who introduced us to the fascinating world of quantum computing and its immense potential. It’s amazing to see that Switzerland is home to its very own quantum computer in Basel! 💡
Later, we also had the pleasure of listening to Anita Gashi from Fankhauser AG, who shared valuable insights into the history and strategic importance of uptownBasel for future generations. 🚀
Learning about the development of this innovative ecosystem was truly inspiring!
And afterwards, they served us fresh and handmade sandwiches for lunch – yummy. 🥪
In the afternoon we headed to Härkingen to visit the Swiss Post’s Mail and Parcel Center, the heart of the Swiss Post. There, we were given an exclusive tour inside the facility and witnessed firsthand the highly efficient sorting and logistics processes that keep Switzerland’s postal system running smoothly - EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
A truly impressive experience. Thanks to Mrs. Vreni Brunner and Mr. Stefan Fritschi for the passionate tour and the desserts afterwards! 📦
We truly appreciate the privilege of being able to experience such unique adventures year for year. 🙏🏼
Stay tuned as we continue to discover innovation, sustainability, and technology in Switzerland and beyond! 🚀
