Our day started early today. The meeting point was in the hotel lobby at 5:45. The whole delegation was still tired and exhausted because of the jetlag, but nevertheless, excited about exploring Bandung. As we have already experienced the traffic jam in Jakarta, it took us about 5h to Bandung. First place on the tour was the Bandung Institute of Technology. After a heartwarming and welcoming introduction to the institute, we have been served lunch by the students, exchange student and lecturers. We had the chance to get to know local students and to chat with them.
Batik Kumar was our second stop. Unfortunately, we had no chance to visit the Batik workshop, but the public relations responsible showed us around the company and introduced us to all of the processes while Batik is fabricated. It was really entertaining to see how much time and effort behind the production of Batik lies. Since the time was running and the program was really tight, we did not spend a lot of time at Batik Kumar. Our last activity in Bandung should have been the exploration of the city in small groups. In meanwhile, the weather got really bad and it started raining heavily. Because of that, we were not able to visit the city and therefore, decided to drive back to Jakarta. While heading back, we stopped at a very local restaurant between Bandung and Jakarta for dinner. We got to know the local kitchen and their eating behavior which is quite different from ours. After a long day with several different experiences we arrived tired but full of new experiences at the hotel.
