Announcement Silver Partner 2018 - 2019

Start of the fourth edition

After having received a smooth handover by the previous project management team, we are delighted and excited to finally being able to start with this exciting project, which now runs for the fourth consecutive year.

From now on, we will do our best to ensure that after three successful editions, the fourth one will be a success again.

The 3rd edition of exploreASEAN 2017/18 is history!

But the story continues..Shortly after the final event of all international student projects, the search for new project managers started intensively. After a short application period, the international student projects received numerous applications of high-potential students that have the determination and ability to manage the new project edition. This project provides them the opportunity to gain valuable project management skills in an international context and expand their professional network.

Final Workshop in Ho Chi Minh City

Today's first stop was was the Hung Vuong Seafood Company. Hung Vuong was established in 2003. Their named guideline is "Your satisfaction is our successfulness" and their slogan could find everywhere on posters and pictures - "Think of fish, eat panga".

News from Ho-Chi-Minh City

In the morning we had the great opportunity to visit our Silver Partner Jakob AG. The company produces rope systems which are mainly used for architectural purposes such as enclosures for animals, safety- or protection nets as well as green façade solutions. In the afternoon we followed up on an invitation for a soccer friendly game by the Ho Chi Minh City Cadre Academy.

After a relaxing night and a very traditional breakfast in the hotel, the delegation could start again into a new day in Hanoi. Unfortunately, it was not possible to visit ABB at their site in Hanoi. But with the good and flexible planning of the project team, they could manage to come up with another interesting program which included the visit of the Bat Trang Ceramic Village.

A Day in Singapore

The first day in Singapore, our third destination of the on-site seminar, was full packed of interesting visits. After celebrating the birthday of our accompanying lecturer Andreas Reber at midnight, the delegation came together early in the morning for an eventful day with not less than three company visits. Insights to Batik Industry

Tuesday the 03.04.18. started off with the usual breakfast. On this day, 24 out of the 28 delegation members could join which was an improvement to the day before, where more had to stay in bed. The bus took us to “Rumah Batik Komar”, which is a batik producer. Batik Shirts is a typical Indonesian clothing, which can be worn on business occasion similar to a suit in western Europe.

Our Visit to ITB - Exchanging cultural knowledge

Today we visited the “Institut Teknologi Bandung” which is the local FHNW partner university. Upon arrival, a group of Indonesian students welcomed us warmly. The traditional Swiss initial shyness was quickly outplayed by Indonesian openness during an initial session where small mixed groups of four to five students from each country discussed differences and similarities between Switzerland and Indonesia

Culture & Business in Jakarta

After fighting our jetlag with hours of sleep, we started our second day in Jakarta with a sightseeing tour. The first stop was the great Istiqlal Mosque. Not only is an impressive fact that it is the largest Mosque in Southeast Asia but it was also built by a Christian architect.

Let's start with GO-JEK - Onsite Seminar 2018

Finally, the one site seminar begun on the day before, when we started our journey from Zurich Airport. After a 14 hours flight and a stop in Singapore, the group arrived save and sound in Jakarta. Since we landed early in the morning the day was packed with sensations, a company visit, and lots of impressions.

The Last Day of our Preparatory Seminar 2018

On Friday, 23rd of February 2018, the Preparatory Seminar ended with an interesting joint event of all the four student projects. The event was characterised by a great speech of Marc Blaser and a career fair, at which many partners of the projects were represented. Moreover, we had the pleasure to attend a worthwile panel discussion with experts in new technologies and a political influencer.
